Petra Joy’s second film is a lush adventure into the realm of real women’s fantasies. The scenes are all based on suggestions from Petra’s female friends and thus reflect legitimate female sexual fantasies. Whether it’s playful group sex, male masturbation, hardcore bisexual hookups in a toilet or artistic burlesque images, all the scenes are a delight to watch and very sexy. The actors are unknown British men and women whom Petra carefully selected for the roles and who had direct input into their scenes. The sex is realistic and unscripted. Five Hot Stories For Her
Erika Lust’s debut film features five individual vignettes, each with a compelling storyline and wonderful acting, not to mention hot and steamy sex scenes. Included is “The Good Girl” – Erika’s first film which she released in 2005 under a creative commons license. My favourite is “Married With Children” which portrays a couple looking to break out of a sexual rut via some creative and taboo techniques. It truly is a gorgeous sexual scenario that will get the juices pumping. Erika doesn’t stint on production values and brings a distinctly hip sensitivity to her filmmaking. The film won “Movie of the Year” at the 2008 Feminist Porn Awards.

Under The Covers
Candida Royalle’s cheeky film takes a look at women who work in the sex industry – in adult toy shops, in BDSM parlours and in porn. The movie’s heroine, a journalist, ends up getting into all kinds of delicious (and funny) situations including a sexy bondage threesome and some wild group sex at a costume party. Candida is, of course, the pioneer of women’s erotica on screen and Under The Covers is one of her more recent productions. The sex is always female-focused and heavily erotic (though still explicit) and there’s a wonderful undercurrent of laughter and fun running through the entire film.

Xana and Dax
Comstock Films operates under the slogan “Real People, Real Sex” and their documentary-style erotic films live up to the promise. Real-life couple Xana and Dax cheerfully discuss how they met, what they find attractive about each other and what they like to do in bed. During an in-depth interview we get to know the participants and develop a feel for their relationship. Then we’re given the opportunity to see them have sex. Their scene together is alternately playful and intense, featuring some of the most realistic and beautiful sex you’ll ever see on film. Tony Comstock dislikes his films being described as “porn” but I think his work elevates the concept of pornography, setting the bar high for the depiction of explicit sex on screen. If only more porn could be like this.

Tristan Taormino’s Expert Guide To Cunnilingus
Anal queen and all-round great gal Tristan Taormino’s Expert Guides series offers good sex education surrounded by full-on, heart-pounding hardcore sex. I’m a fan of the cunnilingus one because… well, dammit, the blowjob gets so much attention and it’s nice to see clit licking get it’s own film. This movie also stars the scrumptious Jack Lawrence, a porn star who likes nothing better than to lick pussy. He’s quite the expert at it, which makes him a very handy star for this film. The other sex scenes are fabulous as well and Tristan gives her usual lecture with aplomb. Check out Tristan’s Chemistry series too. It’s down and dirty gonzo with heart.

Matinee
Jennifer Lyon Bell’s first major film is unlike any adult film I’ve ever seen. This is a beautifully scripted drama starring two real-life actors who were comfortable with performing sex on screen. Matinee is about a woman struggling to perform her part in a romantic play. Her on-stage relationship has no spark and she engages her leading man in an attempt to fire things up – especially as there will be a talent scout in the audience during the afternoon’s performance. What she does to spice up the play doesn’t seem to raise eyebrows in the theatre but it will get you feeling rather hot and bothered at home. This movie is so incredibly engaging, the acting is flawless and the sex is beautifully shot and very realistic. Jennifer brings her own vision of feminist porn to the screen with a flourish.

City of Flesh 3 – Cummitment
Estelle Joseph’s third film is one of my faves, mainly because it has some wonderful male-female cunnilingus scenes. New male star Maxx proves himself to be a maestro of the tongue on numerous occasions, reducing his co-stars to squirming messes. If you’re sick of watching that pretendy-tongue jousting that passes for muff diving in most porn, you’ll love this film. This film offers real hardcore porn and a great plot to boot.
