A New Year

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old time is still a-flying
And this same flower that smiles today
Tomorrow will be dying.

The glorious lamp of heaven, the sun,
The higher he’s a-getting,
The sooner will his race be run,
And nearer he’s to setting.
- Robert Herrick

I am returned after the Christmas break, loathe to work as usual. My new year’s resolutions are fairly dull, involving more exercise and less alcohol. I don’t know if I can stick to the vow I made about eating less soft cheese. It seems a little ambitious, don’t you think?

2008 holds more of the same workwise - more smut, more blogging, more writing, more reviewing dirty movies. Ah, ’tis a hard life. I fully expect the time to fly just as it did in 2007. I turn 35 this year, and that’s a bit of a scary milestone. I also intend to travel just as much as last year - to gather the rosebuds while I may.
