A Little 3rd Birthday Musing

So, today is June 1. Three years ago For The Girls was launched. Time flies, doesn’t it?

For The Girls was a fairly modest site when it started out, but we had big plans for it. My partner and I firmly believed in what we were doing. Women like us wanted porn - but those women wanted a different kind of porn, presented in a more inclusive way.

Oh, and we wanted to ogle naked men. You know, like you do.

So we put together the sort of thing we ourselves would join and took it from there. Three years later there’s over 25,000 photos, nearly 100 videos and I think I’ve written something like 350 articles and stories.

In 2003, most adult webmasters did not believe that women liked porn. The whole “women aren’t visual” belief was very common. Come to think of it, not much has changed. But we have managed to convince a decent number of people that offering porn to women is worthwhile. You’ll find a lot more “for women” categories on linklists, TGPs and review sites now.

I’m pretty proud of what’s been achieved. For The Girls is quite possibly the largest adult website designed for straight women on the web. It’s very successful, and we have a lot of happy members.

Life’s good. Time to eat cake, I think.
