30% More British Women Are Surfing Porn
A new study by Nielsen Netratings and the Independent on Sunday has revealed that British women are increasingly keen on their online porn. The survey found that in the last 12 months the number of Brit chicks surfing for smut has increased by a whopping 30%.
Men still have the upper hand, of course. Nine million men, or 40% of the British male population reported visiting an adult site in the last year. Only 1.4 million women have done the same.
Still, it shows that women are increasingly hungry for their share of the stroke material. And the British in particular are clamouring for it, with sales of traditional softcore material declining in the face of uncensored online porn.
Typically, the mainstream media have accompanied these statistics with quotes from worried “relationship experts” talking about how porn is ruining marriages. Amusingly – and in spite of the survey results in front of them – they all talk about “Porn” as a single concept that only depicts naked women for the pleasure of straight, married men. Sigh.
The survey doesn’t reveal exactly how many people go online looking for porn and are disappointed with what they find. Now that would be an interesting statistic.
