Sweet Action in controversial ad"In the ad, retailer American Apparel invited readers to its Newbury Street store to meet 'Micole,' pictured in the ad and supposedly a 30-year-old co-creator of SweetAction Magazine. "The ad went on to describe SweetAction as 'a porn mag for the ladies, by the ladies - think skinny, naked hipster boys with (erections).' Apparently the ad was a hoax, something that American Apparel do often. What I'm wondering is what the ladies from Sweet Action mag make of this. Were they co-conspirators in this strange piece of marketing? Or was it a surprise to them? Either way, they've got to be happy with the free publicity. Although I wouldn't be all that impressed if people thought the editors went around wearing terry towelling clothes and awful looking headbands. I thought this mag was supposed to be chic!!
