US declares all sexually explicit material to be child pornographyUS rules all porn is child porn. That's right. That's essentially what the new 2257 ruling does. If anyone publishes sexually explicit material, the law assumes that it is child pornography and that the publisher must have documents to prove otherwise. And not just have the documents. The publisher/webmaster must have them cross referenced in a massive database with all known aliases, addresses and URLs/movies. So, that's the essence of the new law. Guilty until proven innocent. There's also a couple of other big things about it that can be summed up like this: The US government can now perform searches of property without a warrant and without showing probable cause. - The new ruling allows inspectors to turn up unannounced and they have the power to enter a webmaster's house without a warrant and search that person's computer to obtain the documents. The US government can now make people incriminate themselves - The ruling requires webmasters to keep the records that may be used against them in court if they haven't complied, or even if they make a clerical error. The US government has made the right to privacy a secondary consideration - The ruling requires record holders to distribute private information such as drivers licences to numerous people without the consent of the model.
