The Thought Of Her – Trailer

Thursday, July 28th, 2011

The Thought Of Her - Trailer from Louise Lush on Vimeo.

A month ago I made a new short film. It’s a male-masturbation video called “The Thought Of Her” and it features the gorgeous Adam. I tried to go beyond the standard jerk off video and include something of the mental processes involved in self-pleasure. I did this via a monologue, detailing what might go through a man’s mind as he masturbates.

I also decided to go for more arty close ups and strong cross lighting with a black background, similar to Fucking Is The Only Prayer. What can I say, I like how it looks.

The film is currently available in full at For The Girls. I’m also going to create a longer version of it in the near future.

You Should Consider Having Sex With A Bearded Man

Monday, July 25th, 2011

You should consider having sex with a bearded manThose of you who regularly read my blog might know that my lovely husband has a beard. He’s had one ever since I met him and I love it as much as I love him. He doesn’t enjoy shaving but I also think he looks better with facial hair. Sometimes it gets a bit bushy and out of control but he trims it back and it’s great.

So naturally I can’t help but love the new single by Australian band The Beards called You Should Consider Having Sex With A Bearded Man (sound link below – it’s not on Youtube yet). The Beards sing exclusively about the joy of facial hair and the band is made up of four very hairy blokes with pseudonyms like John Beardman Jr and Facey McStubblington. Recent hits include No Beard, No Good and Every Wizard Needs a Beard.

Their new song features a plethora of glorious lines like “he rubs his bristles on your mammary glands” and “don’t try and fight just get freaky with a beard tonight”. It’s also the only song I know of that makes use of the term “pash rash”.

Better still, this delightful song takes inspiration from 80s cock-rock power ballads, complete with full synthesiser solo, a la Van Halen’s Jump and Europe’s The Final Countdown and the singer engages in an occasional spot of falsetto, similar to The Darkness’ Justin Hawkins. I’m in heaven!

You Should Consider Having Sex With A Bearded Man by The Beards

You might consider encouraging this cool band and buying their song on iTunes. They’re also embarking on the 100 Beards Tour, trying to convince 100 men to grow their beards during the course of the tour.

I do enjoy me some silliness in my music.

By the way, I wrote a post a few months ago about the glories of facial hair, complete with sexy photos of men with moustaches and beards.

I’ve Been Censored By Youtube

Sunday, July 24th, 2011

Get the Flash Player to see this content.

I have had my first video removed from Youtube. It’s a trailer for “That’s What I Like” that I edited so it was incredibly tame (see above). Essentially it consists of shots of Mia talking about sex alternating with images of her kissing Andy. The closest the video comes to nudity is bare shoulders. And you can see that they are on a bed. Apparently that’s far too rude for the good people at Youtube.

The official “warning” email and page that I received said:

The YouTube Community has flagged one or more of your videos as inappropriate. Once a video is flagged, it is reviewed by the YouTube Team against our Community Guidelines. Upon review, we have determined that the following video(s) contain content in violation of these guidelines, and have been disabled:

That’s What I Like Trailer – (indigolush)

YouTube is not the place for nudity, pornography or other sexually provocative content. YouTube makes limited exceptions for appropriate educational, documentary, artistic and scientific contexts, but only in limited circumstances where the purpose of posting is clear and any nudity it is not sexual in nature.

OK, so… “That’s What I Like” is an erotic film that could be said to be “sexually provocative” but it’s also a documentary and I think it’s rather artistic. Also, the trailer is extraordinarily tame and does not include any nudity or pornography or sexually provocative content. It’s just a bare-bones glimpse at a sexual documentary.

I suspect that this has come about because I complained to Google about losing the ability to login to my Indigo Lush Youtube account thanks to Google merging Gmail/Blogger/Youtube accounts together. Obviously I raised my head above the ramparts by doing this and I’ve been consequently punished for it. There’s no way for me to appeal the ruling or to try and discuss the issue with them.

Curious about Youtube’s policies I followed a few links and ended up on the “General Policy Enforcement” page where they talk about adding age restrictions to videos. It discusses the idea of what Youtube considers to be “sexually suggestive”:

Videos featuring sexually explicit content, such as real sex acts, are not allowed. Other content, such as nudity and dramatised or implied sexual conduct, may be considered sexually suggestive, depending on whether or not it is intended or designed to arouse viewers. Nudity includes exposed or partially covered genitalia, buttocks or breasts, as well as sheer clothing. Videos featuring individuals in minimal or revealing clothing may also be age-restricted if they’re intended to elicit a sexual response.

Additional considerations include a combination of:

Whether breasts, buttocks or genitals (clothed or unclothed) are the focal point* of the video.
Whether the video’s setting is sexually suggestive (e.g. a location generally associated with sexual activity, such as a bed);
Whether the subject is depicted in a pose that is intended to sexually arouse the viewer;
Whether the subject’s actions in the video suggest a willingness to engage in sexual activity (e.g. kissing, provocative dancing, fondling); and
If a subject is minimally clothed, whether the clothing would be acceptable in appropriate public contexts (e.g. swimwear vs. underwear).

* Focal point is determined by factors including the length of time an image appears in the video (fleeting vs. prolonged exposure), especially relative to the overall length of the video, the camera angle and focus, the relative clarity of the images in the video, the lighting and the video thumbnail (content that appears in a thumbnail is also considered to be its focal point).

So. Kissing. The bed. The willingness to engage in sexual activity (thought crime!). The filmmaker’s evil intent to arouse. That’s enough to bring out the big stick on Youtube.

Interestingly, it’s pretty damned easy to find other videos that are WAAAAAY ruder than mine. Since I’ve become a fan of True Blood I thought I’d do a search to see if one of the many and varied sex scenes are on Youtube. Bingo. There’s a plethora of them. Like this compilation or this kinky Exorcist neck-twisting scene from series 3. I found the sex in the dirt scene has been age restricted but not banned.

Then there’s this College Humor video of a “realistic Hollywood sex scene” that’s fairly naughty but is now up to 24 million views.

I’ve also found a wide range of what’s “appropriate” when adding videos to my Sexy Short Films site. One of my favourite erotic films called Aprop is still up on Youtube and it’s got rather a lot of sexual suggestiveness and nudity. But it’s in black and white and it’s artistic so that makes it OK.

So really, what’s happened here is not that my video was too sexy or graphic. It’s just that it was a trailer for something that Youtube doesn’t approve of – a film about sex that also appears on an adult site. So far the rules are: Sexy HBO series: Yes. Arty lesbian images: Yes. Glimpse of an independently made doco about sex: No.

In any case, I won’t be uploading it again. It’s made me wonder what else might trigger the ban button. The application of the guidelines are all over the place so it’s all very hit and miss. Vimeo seems far more grown up about what can be uploaded so I’ll use that from now on. And I’ll still be only using very tame footage.

By the way, filmmaker Tony Comstock has already been here, done that.

Sex News: Labiaplasty And Penis Size

Saturday, July 16th, 2011

Just to blow away some blog cobwebs, here’s some news about sex I’ve been reading:

Male doctors more likely to recommend labiaplasty
A new study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine has found that male doctors and plastic surgeons are more likely to recommend labiaplasty (cosmetic surgery on the genitals) than female GPs. Worryingly, many plastic surgeons considered a photo of large labia minora to be “distasteful and unnatural”. Read the commentary at My Sex Professor.

Penis size measurement study… done without consent?
The LA Times is reporting on a Korean study that says penis size can be predicted by the ratio of a man’s ring finger compared to his index finger. Interesting, but what stood out in this story was their method of study:

Dr. Tae Beom Kim, a urologist at Gachon University in Incheon, Korea, and his colleagues studied 144 men over the age of 20 who were undergoing urological surgery for conditions that do not affect the length of the penis. One member of the team carefully measured the lengths of the index and ring fingers on the subject’s right hand before surgery — left hands are thought to be more variable. A second team member then measured penis length immediately after the subject had been anesthetized.

I’ve added the bold. Because, what the fuck? These doctors were measuring guys penises during surgery. Did they ask their patients beforehand if they could do this? Why did they wait until the men were anesthetized? It seems very dodgy to me. The LA Times story doesn’t provide any further information about this so I’m left to wonder at the ethics of this study.

Women And Male-Male Erotic Fiction

Tuesday, July 5th, 2011

Gay lovers, male-male eroticaThe Sydney Morning Herald has featured an article about the popularity of male-male erotic fiction (slash, yaoi or gay male romance) with straight women. It features quotes from me, using my Louise Lush pseudonym. The journalist (Alyssa McDonald) has treated the subject well, talking to various different sources and not descending into sex-negative language.

When Alyssa contacted me she wasn’t particularly well informed about the subject. Her main source of info was the Billion Wicked Thoughts book, which I’ve already ranted about here. I sent her a bunch of links and gave her my less-than-perfect opinion about M/M erotica (it’s not really my thing). She has written a really good summary of it and also including both my and Suraya’s criticism of the “Wicked Thoughts” book.

The comments are interesting. There’s a lot of people who are shocked by it, matched by an equal number of slash fans.

I do want to include more male-male erotica at For The Girls and create a gay category on Ms Naughty. My problem is that, as I said, it’s not really my bag, although that’s no good reason to not include it. It just means that I’ve got to learn to spot good content and to get to know what’s out there.

Also, in the past I had a “no gay” rule for the Ms Naughty linklist. This was because the adult industry used to dismiss “for women” content as being another gay niche, refusing to believe that women actually looked at porn. So I worked hard to distinguish my site from gay ones. It was the same with For The Girls. I’ve since learned how much women do enjoy gay and male-male content. It’s now just a matter of finding the time to create the category and find good content.

This Quest Of Ours Is Cursed

Tuesday, July 5th, 2011

If you follow my blog or Twitter feed you’ll know that for 19 months now we’ve been trying to get the member’s area of For The Girls revamped. Read about it here and about how we were originally ripped off last year.

I really thought we’d finally have it done by July 1.

Nope.

Our programmer has resigned. He’s been working on it since September 2010. It’s 95% done. But he’s gone. We need to find somebody new to finish the job.

I’ve had to hand-edit every single article, gallery and video on our site, even though we wanted that to be automated. I’ve done weeks of data entry work, worked weekends and neglected the blog and my other sites. I’ve done my utmost to bring it all together but right now, it’s stalled again. This is more than a little soul destroying.

I’m going step away from this and take some time off. And I’m going to rearrange my priorities to try and get a better balance when I come back. I hope you don’t mind the blog silence in the meantime.
