As usually I’ll be partying like it’s 1999… I’m just so behind the times.

Have a good one.

Got A Minute?

by

Sixty Second EroticaHere it is, smutty reading for those who are short on time. Like all good quickies it’s short and hot!

The official blurb: Everyone loves a quickie. A breathless, clothes-in-a-heap romp or a naughty tease before the elevator doors slide open. Even better when it’s a quick sex story you can read again and again. “Turn me on in 50 words or less and I’ll follow you home,” writes editor and erotica aficionado Alison Tyler about Got a Minute? The lovers in Marie Potoczny’s “The Other Side of Sleep” revel in the delicious pause between sleep and waking. Sharon Wachsler’s “Perfect” is a love story that happens to include ropes, rough play, and butterfly pillows. The 60 short and spicy stories in Got a Minute? will rev your motor and leave you aching for more. When it comes to hot sex, who doesn’t have a minute?

Get it here.

Summer Solstice: It’s Lazy Time

by

Today is the Summer Solstice, caloo, calay. Let us celebrate by sacrificing a virgin and guzzling a bottle of wine or two.

Alternately, it’s Global Orgasm Day – so go to it, young ladies!

It’s also four days until Christmas and that naturally means that I’m outta here! I’m going to be doing very little work from now until the 7th of January because it’s Christmas, dammit, and that means I’m on holiday. Yes yes, I know I’ve been on holiday a lot this year, but that’s the payoff for being an evil pornographer, you see.

I’m also running behind in my posts – I’ve got a half-finished round-up on porn for women in 2007 but it’s just gonna have to wait until I get back.

So here’s wishing you an excellent Christmas/Summer Solstice and a fab New Year.

I’m going to organise a few automated posts with occasional smut, but if you want something substantial, check back after January 7.

Cheers.

Best Women’s Erotica 2008 Is Out

by

Best Women's Erotica 2008The latest Best Women’s Erotica book is out, once again edited by Violet Blue. I haven’t had a chance to read it but here’s the official blurb:

Best Women’s Erotica 2008 delivers risky, romantic, heart-pounding thrills. Joyful, daring, and authentic, these 21 steamy stories revel in erotic adventure, from the sparks between strangers to the knowing caresses of long-time lovers. In “Penalty Fare,” a Londoner rides train after train without a valid ticket, until, on an early morning journey to Bristol she finds the conductor who knows just how to punish her for trying to skip the fare. In “Winter Heat,” a woman finds that each year, the winter’s first snowfall reminds her of a cold night when she was 18 and the stranger who taught her that “passion can be found and shared in the most unusual of places.” And in “You Can Do Mine,” Céline finally gets to try out her purple dildo and leather harness with her new lover Leo, the first man to give the right answer when she tells him “you can do mine if I can do yours.”

Amusingly, Amazon lists the “Key Phrases” for this book as: pussy lips, butt plug, hard cock. The reviews and “see inside” pages on Amazon are all from the 2007 edition of the book, which is a bit strange.

I haven’t compiled any Christmas gift guides but I think this might be one you’ll want to buy for yourself.

Even Mormon Women Like Porn

by

I can't, I'm MormonUSA Today reports on a survey of 813 students about attitudes to porn. The researchers have concluded that young people are more accepting of porn than their parents, seeing it as an “acceptable way to express sexuality.” Naturally the study has prompted much hand wringing about the terrible influence of internet porn.

Most headlines have focused on the idea that women are more accepting of porn, although apparently most of those interviewed didn’t actually use it much. The study found that:

…only 31% of young women reported any viewing of pornography. Only 3.2% said they saw such material weekly or daily…

The men in the study reported watching it more often, with 86% of males having viewed porn in the last year.

The Inquirer brings us a rather salient point about this particular study and its participants. It was conducted by Brigham Young University which is a conservative Mormon university entirely owned by the Church of Latter Day Saints. Wikipedia says that 98% of all students there are Mormons.

So… essentially, your average young Mormon woman doesn’t have too much of an issue with porn, even if she’s not too inclined to use it regularly. It reminds me of the poll conducted in 2003 by evangelical magazine Today’s Christian Woman that found 34% of their female readers had accessed online porn.

See? Even the fine upstanding religious ladies like a bit of smut every now and again.

Pic is from here.

I’m An Aunty Again

by

So I’m an Aunty again! My sister WAS in labour on Friday and she proceeded to stay in labour for almost two days. She finally gave birth to a baby boy on Sunday at 8 in the morning. She and the baby are both fine.

So that was quite an experience. I was there for moral support and backrubs through most of Friday night and Saturday but they wouldn’t let me in the birth suite so I missed the main part. Even so, it’s been a very profound, amazing, fascinating and tiring experience. I loved being a part of this very female thing and I’m truly awed by the power of a woman’s body. Although I still don’t want to go through it myself. In the end it’s not giving birth that’s frightening, it’s the future tantrums in the supermarket that scare me.

So now I’ve got a nephew and I’m planning on being the best aunty ever.

Normal smuttiness will resume tomorrow. Maybe. Or I might go toy shopping instead.

Watching Childbirth Videos

by

So I just can’t do any kind of reasonable blog entry today because my sister is in labour. At least, we think so. And last night I sat down and watched a bunch of Youtube childbirth videos that subsequently gave me nightmares.

This funny vid does a good job at capturing the reactions of people watching childbirth on a video. And that was me last night.

All work is about to be abandoned. I’m about to become an aunty again, I think. Maybe. But I can’t concentrate anyway.

What’s In David Beckham’s Undies?

by

David Beckham's undies in that Armani ad.
British footballer David Beckham has caused a stir by appearing half-naked in an ad for Armani. The viewer just can’t help but notice that the bulge in those bright white undies is, well, fucking huge. The Daily Star has happily speculated on the various items that may be stuffed therin, including “Led Zeppelin, or at least any Zeppelin, Wife Victoria’s old boob implants, Dr Who’s tardis or even Osama Bin Laden.

The Sun, though, abuses Beckham for looking gay, saying the photo is homo-erotic. Naturally this pisses me off – there’s always an assumption that the viewer of this type of pic is male. It’s like the media can’t understand that a straight woman would actually enjoy perving on a bit of beefcake. Still, it’s only The Sun, so I shouldn’t expect too much from them.

Yaoi – Japanese Male-On-Male Porn For Women

by

Yaoi - Japanese manga gay romance for women. I’ve been meaning to write up an article on Yaoi for a long time but gay site Xtra has beaten me to it. Yaoi (pronounced “yowee”) is Japanese manga comics depicting romantic relationships between two men, some of it involving hardcore gay sex. Yaoi is almost exlusively written by women for a straight female audience. It’s been popular in Japan for a long time but has now broken into the US market.

In the late 1970s and ’80s girls’ romance comics began to include stories where male/female romances were supplanted by a sort of idealized, platonic male/male friendship and then later a male/male romance. Although the work was created entirely by women and was serialized in women’s magazines, the male/male relationships became a hit with the readership and the audience demanded more.

Why? Well the males in question were about as effeminate and nonsexualized (and therefore nonthreatening) as possible and many manga fans argue that this created a perfectly safe and balanced — although incredibly unlikely — template onto which female fans could project themselves.

Xtra writes from the viewpoint of a gay man, of course, and provides a list of where to find the hardcore yaoi action.

I’m fairly unfamiliar with this genre so I probably shouldn’t comment on it too much. It seems to be a similar phenomenon to slash fiction, which also involves two male characters (i.e. Captain Kirt and Dr. Spock or Harry Potter and Professor Snape). The focus is on romance although that’s not to say there’s no interest in pure, porny perving. And of course, the popularity of gay porn among some straight women has been mentioned in this blog before – I think the focus there is on seeing good looking guys get it on with each other.

Daniel Craig To Nude Up For Next Bond Film

by

Daniel Craig as James Bond - to go nude.OK, so it’s The Sun, which means we have to take this report with a grain of salt. Even so, it’s rather a thrilling idea to think that current James Bond actor Daniel Craig is keen to get his kit off in the next Bond film.

“I’d go totally nude. I’ve got nothing to hide, and after all, we ask the girls to reveal almost all, so why not the men?” he said.

Now that’s the kind of attitude we want to encourage in our male stars!

He also says he didn’t think there’d be such a fuss over his swimsuit scene in Casino Royalle.

Save Mister Splashy Pants

by

Mister Splashy Pants logo. It’s official. Greenpeace is naming the whale Mister Splashy Pants, after the name received 78% of the online poll votes.

They’ve now got an online petition to the Japanese government that says:

To the Japanese Fisheries Agency, I want you to promise that you will NOT kill Mister Splashy Pants and his friends.

That’s just too funny. But it’s also great because it will garner a lot of publicity for the anti-whaling cause. You can sign the petition here.

You can now also buy Mister Splashy Pants T shirts and other merchandise here.

Personal Touch: Toying With Pleasure instructional video.I’ve spent most of today updating Porn Movies For Women. There were a lot of new movies to add and I’m still writing up some reviews. There’s also a third film on the way: Personal Touch 3: Exploring The O

Handyman Series: Tina Tyler has continued her successful male masturbation series with Handyman 4. The latest film features porn stars Kris Slater, Chris Strokes and Nicolas Gage among others.

Playgirl Series:
Since I last looked, Playgirl has gone beserk, releasing a whole bunch of new films, including:
* Dirty Habits (due December 12)
* Tantric Sex Secrets
* Always on Fire
* The Sexual Exploits of Jean Val Jean
* Playgirl’s Erotic Collection 4 Disc Set (includes Body Worship, Stripped and Secret Lovers)

* Expert Guide to Oral Sex: Fellatio

This year the larger adult companies seem to have finally acknowledge female viewers which makes for a nice change.

Cigarettes Will Kill You (But He’s A Hottie)

by

Hot hunk Ashley may be smoking but he's still cute.
It’s Friday, I’m ready for my wine, sweetie, and I thought I should end the week with a nice hunk photo.

Ashley here is hot. Problem is, he’s smoking a cigarette. I’m so conflicted!

I don’t smoke and I usually can’t handle being near people who do smoke. So I don’t like the idea that this lovely hunky man is clogging up his lovely hunky lungs with tar.

But still, he looks so good. All very cool and alternative, the sort of guy that single indie chicks get a little gooey over. And the hard-cock-in-the-t-shirt thing is all very spectacular.

Ah, whatever. It’s the weekend. Enjoy yourself. And if you want to see the full set of photos, please visit For The Girls!

Tristan Taormino Interviews

by

Tristan TaorminoThanks to a lovely review package chock-full of DVDs, I’m deep in the world of Tristan Taormino at the moment, as you may have guessed from my various posts. I’m having a great time watching the vids (which doesn’t happen that often, I have to say) and I’m very much admiring her philosophy too.

And I’m not alone. Over at Sex In The Public Square they’ve got a great interview with Tristan about her work and she’s even answered questions from readers.

Here’s an excerpt:

EW: One critique of porn is that it is all about men’s pleasure and not about women’s. A different critique that I’d love to explore is that, at least in terms of visual representation, porn is not about men’s pleasure at all. It makes sex look like a lot of work for men, where it makes sex look like lots of pleasure for women. What’s your sense of how your porn portrays sex and pleasure for men and for women?

TT: I feel like lots of porn represents male sexuality as hard, aggressive, and robot-like, and female sexuality as merely a vehicle/receptacle for men’s pleasure. To me, a lot of porn does a disservice to men and women, and I want my porn to be different. The first thing is that in my movies, you can *see* the men. I try to give them equal space in the frame—literally. Visually, in the majority of porn, men are literally CUT OUT of the frame, and they are reduced to an erection only. We never see the rest of their bodies, let alone their faces while they are fucking. I love to see an expression wash over someone’s face as they experience pleasure, and for men, those images are never included in scenes. We also never hear from them. Men are rarely allowed to speak, some are even told to not speak; in my movies, I give them equal “talk” time in the interview segments. One of the complaints I hear a lot from female performers is that they are not given time to reach orgasm, because when things start to heat up for them, the director calls for them to change what they are doing. I let performers pace themselves and never tell them to stop what they are doing, and I find that it leads to more real female orgasms, which are still lacking in a lot of porn.

See? No wonder I like what she’s doing.

For The Girls also has an interview with Tristan as our December feature.
