I thought the trailer for Female Fantasies had a lot to recomend it; certainly a hell of a lot more nice things to look at than anything I've seen come out of the 818. Two reservations: one about the trailer and one about the Petra's philosophy.

1) In my opinion the music was key to the trailer working, but it sounded like a bit of "real" pop music, ie the sort of thing that costs more for clearence than the entire budget for most porn movies. Whenever I hear quality pop music in a porn trailer, I can't help but wonder if the producers secured rights, and if sound track to the full length movie is going to live up to the promises the trailer makes. Lots of cinematic ideas that work really well when there's a good piece of music driving them fall flat when they poor or no score.

2) The whole "women know what women want" thing is so completely played out if I never hear it again it will be too soon. Njoy, some of the very nicest toys ever made are designed by, wait for it, a man. Some of the most scathing things I've ever read about a sex toy have been written about, you guessed, sex toys designed by women.

The forces, both economic and creative (like trying to get rights to kick ass music), that effect they have on the creation of sexually explicit art are is vast that they largely overwhelm whatever gender-based differences a director brings to their work.
